What PvPInsight is

PvPInsight is a Minecraft Java PvP analytics application. It records fights on your computer, reviews them, and can optionally sync them so you can open them in the web app.

Local data

PvPInsight may keep fight captures, diagnostics, settings, and application state on this computer while it processes them and so a crash or a closed window does not throw the session away. A successful cloud upload does not immediately delete the local capture.

Cloud Sync

Cloud Sync is separate from optional product-improvement consent. When Cloud Sync is on, PvPInsight may upload a full fight file to PvPInsight infrastructure.

That file can include combat actions, hits and misses, movement, aim and geometry, equipment and resource state, timestamps and relative timing, fight classification, derived analytics, and the technical metadata needed to store and reopen the capture. It can also include Minecraft usernames and player IDs for you and players in the fight, skin references, world coordinates, and messages the server showed on your screen during the session, such as titles, the scoreboard, and system messages.

It is not limited to geometry and timing. The current capture format does not include an IP address or hostname field, and it does not include signed player-chat packets. On-screen server text is still part of the fight file. The file does not include the rest of your computer.

Optional product improvement

Using fights to improve PvPInsight analysis is off by default. You have to turn it on. Uploading a fight with Cloud Sync does not grant that permission.

When it is on, fights saved while it is on may be used to improve analysis and models. The copy used for that purpose is de-identified: usernames, player IDs, skins, server messages, and capture and device identifiers are removed, player IDs are replaced with per-fight pseudonyms, and positions and times are made relative to the fight. That copy still contains detailed movement and combat timing. Turning the setting off stops future use. This is not a claim that the copy has no identifying structure left.

Usage analytics (optional)

The desktop app asks once whether to share pseudonymous usage analytics. It is off until you choose to share, and you can change it any time in Settings. It is separate from Cloud Sync and from using fights to improve PvPInsight.

When it is on, the app sends a few small events so we can count active installations, versions in use, update success and how many fights get processed: that the app started, at most one activity check-in per day, the app version, release channel, Windows version and CPU architecture, whether Cloud Sync is on, the number of fights processed (a number only), whether the PvPInsight Fabric mod was detected, update results, and whether fight reconstruction was opened that day.

These events carry a random analytics ID created on your computer when you turn usage analytics on. It is not your cloud identity, your Minecraft account or anything derived from your hardware, network or Windows account. Our server stores a one-way hash of that ID, not the ID itself. Turning usage analytics off deletes the ID on your computer; turning it on again creates a new one. Events never include fight contents, opponents, servers, coordinates, chat, Minecraft usernames or UUIDs, file paths, your Windows username or hardware identifiers.

Your IP address is used only briefly, in hashed form, to limit abusive request rates. It is not stored with analytics data. We do not use precise location. Daily usage records are kept for about 400 days; per-installation records expire about 400 days after the installation was last active; totals without any identifier (for example, the number of fights processed) may be kept longer. Usage analytics are used only to operate and improve PvPInsight. They are not sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you across devices.

Download counts

When you download PvPInsight from the official download page, the server counts the download for that release, platform and day. This count does not store your IP address, browser details or any identifier, and it does not depend on the usage analytics setting.

Account and device identity

Public Alpha does not use a separate PvPInsight login. Cloud fights belong to this installation’s PvPInsight identity. Reinstalling on the same computer keeps it. A new computer, a Windows reset, or deleting the local PvPInsight data folder without a private backup of that identity means those cloud fights cannot be opened again. Do not share the identity file. Anyone who has it can open and delete those fights.

Security

Cloud fight data is stored for your installation and is meant to be access-controlled. That is not a promise of absolute security. Keep the installation identity private.

Retention

Local canonical captures are not deleted automatically the moment a cloud sync succeeds. Cloud records can remain until you delete them. This alpha does not publish a fixed cloud retention period. If the storage provider keeps its own backups or object versions, those copies are outside the in-app delete button.

Deletion

Deleting a fight in the product removes it from cloud storage when that delete succeeds. It does not delete the copy already on your computer. Deleting local files does not, by itself, delete the cloud copy.
